Yes Peas! is a consumer awareness campaign that aims to drive sales of frozen peas. Their existing website hadn’t been updated in ten years, it was clunky, outdated and didn’t deliver the user experience required – not to mention restrictions with the CMS which limited how creative the site was. Our brief was to recreate the website and develop the brand and bring together the land, the growing process and the food into the design.
We took a rustic approach and created wooden worktops, jagged edging, soil and chunky fonts as the main style for the site. The campaign looks to focus on the land, the pea farming process and the recipes so this style worked perfectly along with some pea pods scattered throughout and lots of great imagery of pea farming.
We designed the recipe section in a flexible way so that extra content like video and food allergy badges could be added quickly and easily using the CMS and also included an ingredient search function. Overall the site is bold and clear making it super easy for users to navigate but still has that rustic farming edge that keeps it visually interesting to explore.
Micro-campaigns can be created and added to the website during the pea farming season which include games, competitions, downloads and an interactive map of UK pea farmers.
The site has had a great response and positive feedback, there will be further additions to the site for the coming pea season and we look forward to continuing our work with the Yes Peas! team.
